SUMMER UNTITLED is a 3 month long event, collaboratively organized by three San Jose groups: South Bay DIY Zine Collective, Cheers from the Wasteland, and Silicon Valley DeBug. It serves to document participants' experiences and record our collective histories, through self-publishing.

The project stretches from June until September. Participants create a new zine or zines over the period of the summer. Each zine's content and style is completely up to the zinester: personal narrative, poems, photos, research essays, comix, how-to, collective zines, and everything in-between!

While all zinesters are encouraged to sign up, a main goal of SUMMER UNTITLED is to create a fun and nurturing space for first-time zinesters of all ages to give zine-making a go. We have workshops, casual meet ups, a zine reading, and other events scheduled throughout the summer and our organizers can provide support with layout, printing, and ideas.

This fest is in the tradition of Summer of Discontent, first created in 2014 by Think and Die Thinking Collective, as an experiment in kick-starting some creativity and making space for people who might not always feel they get to be creative.
